This Is Great… My Site Hacked!

by m.lord | 08.01.08 | 1 Comment

So I just get home from the Can Can and get online.  My website is my “homepage”  so it automatically loads to it.  I was pretty surprised to find this image/page of which I knew not how it got there. Image of ZoRRoKiN hack - August 1, 2008. At any rate, I don’t know what to think of it.  I “googled” the name and looks like many peoples’ sites were defaced.  I find it a little fascinating myself.  In one sense, how do they do that?  In the other, it ties in with this book I’ve been reading titled The Sovereign Individual: How to Survive and Thrive During the Collapse of the Welfare State by James Dale Davidson & Lord William Rees-Mogg. This book is seriously testing the way I view things.  It’s all about information and control of information during our current infancy in this peroid known as the Information Age.  Much of what is written has and continues to be evidenced which only brings a greater interest on my part.  If you are at all curious about some insight into the possibilities of what future systems may operate and control the wealth and assets of this world, you might want to check this out.  This copy I got from the Seattle Public Library is actually unique because a previous reader made numerous notes within the text. If you don’t decide to read this book, read another one.  Get knowledge.

[ Update: August 10, 2008 ]

Here’s my brief review of the above mentioned book, “The Sovereign Individual.”

This book is good, enjoyable even, and for the subject matter (economics, politics, society, etc…) was surprisingly informative with out being incredibly dull.  This is the first book of this kind I’ve read, and now I’d like to read more.  The basic plot: Governments can’t afford to keep taxing those who pay the majority of the taxes and receive few services directly from the government.  These individuals tend to pay for private services of this kind.  Essentially, the wealthy ones may soon find it more to their liking to keep their assets/monies/residences elsewhere.  This may put what we know to be the citizen in the position of customer looking for the right government.  There’s tons of red tape, sure. But they can afford it, rather, they can’t afford not to go through the red tape.  And, neither can you.

This is what the book is about.  The end of the Industrial Age.  The information age making it easier to create and keep assets without the need for government, current government, protection.  These industrial institutions may fail completely or privatize to the point of no real return.  They are attempting to predict the future outcome of politics.  The predictions they make are well based on history and current events so it’s pretty believable that this could come to pass.

They do hype themselves up a lot though.  Maybe they have much reason to do so and since I’m not familiar with this stuff, I’m out of the loop.  We’ll see.  Either way, read as fact or fiction, it’s interesting to think about.
